Player Pathway Builder

Protect the sport pathway while sharing club infrastructure.

A blended club can work only if each code or programme has a visible pathway. Do not let the senior pathway disappear by accident.

A visible participant pathway includes

  • Low-risk entry point
  • Regular local participation
  • Development opportunities
  • Age or stage progression
  • Optional travel clearly separated
  • Retention and transition plan
  • Volunteer pathways

Pathway principles

Local first

Regular local participation must not rely on weekly travel to another city.

Age stage clarity

Entry grades can be broad. Older players need more technical pathway definition.

Optional travel

Travel and tournaments should be opt in extras, not the baseline offer.

Development squads

Create extra training for keen players only when coaches and parent support exist.

Retention point

Map what happens when players age out of junior grades.

Girls and women

Do not assume mixed junior participation automatically becomes a senior pathway.
